I've been sewing since I was very young, first by hand then on my mother's treadle machine. Bought my first sewing machine, an Elna Supermatic, in 1963. Used all the nice fancy stitches and did free motion embroidery. My first embroidery cum sewing machine was a Brother Galaxy (1993). In 1994 I bought the Brother Scanner, a primitive way of autodigitizing. But at the time I was pleased with the results. Real digitizing started for me in 1999 when I bought the Husqvarna Designer1 and their System 5 Pro software, which I upgraded a few times till the 3D Pro, which I still use, together with Embird (since November 2008). I love knitting, tatting, crochet and I used to make (bobbin)lace. Lace making is so time-consuming - I'll pick that up again when I've got time to spare. In 1994 I started millinery, the hat in my avatar is one I made (from sinamay).
