The price is $1.52 litre in Adelaide today. After rushing out to get it at $1.54 yesterday. Tuesday is renowned to be the cheap day, I guess it could still have been $1.59 as it was for the past week.

What a great question, it is interesting to read all the different prices around the world, and it seems that within a country, the prices vary.
The last time I looked the prices in Melbourne where Standard $1.57 I used the high Octane which is generally another 10 to 15 cents dearer. Blessed, dont drive much at the moment.

I am in Central Florida, and while I fuel up it was $3.81 gal this evening. I should have filled up, but like to do it in the mornings. It will most likely jump up again before I get back there. Most places here are $3.92/gal, or better. Let's see, what do we do without to put as in the auto? I think I am going to ask to start working from home. What do you think?

In truth, I have no idea what the price is here now-a-days. I just stay at home with my babes most of the time and my husband fills the tank when it needs to be filled. I drive to church or to my mother's house, and the grocery store. We just can't afford to drive anymore, and I can't go anywhere with all three kids without the car.

yes that is about why we are forced to do as well these days, we live in rual area so when we do go to town/ciy we make the most of it and do lots in that day to get the most out of the petrol.

    mpo14011 by mpo14011 11 Jun 2008

Cutiepie, hope you don't mind me asking you a personal question. Why can't you go anywhere with three kids?I know you have just had twins, but there are prams for twins.I can't drive and I had 3 kids. There was 18 months between the 1st and 2nd and 2 years between the second and 3rd.I was also a care giver, looking after other peoples kids.I would very often have up to 6 of them.I used to put the youngest 2 of the kids in a double pusher and the rest would walk.Even the little 3 year old.Depending where we were living at the time it would sometimes take up to 45 to walk to the shops. We are very lucky, here ,we have a very good home delivery system in our supermarkets. The kids thought it was fun to walk.we would walk everywhere. To them it was a game.I still walk to the supermarket. Now we are only a 20 minute walk from there. Now I take my Grandkids for walks when I go shopping.

    mpo14011 by mpo14011 11 Jun 2008

    sorry, that's 45 minutes.

$4.10 a gallon here in the US Midwest, that's about 1.03 per litre. That's about $1.08 AUS or 1.65 EURO and 2 pounds British per litre... Diesel fuel here is almost at $5 a gallon so it's about 25% higher than unleaded gasoline.

    Hi minnie,
I'm in Florida, and the cost here is anywhere from $4.00 to $4.25 for regular, and $4.75 for diesel. Same I heard in Arizona. My daughter was talking about the good old days when she was a new driver and paying $1.00/gallon for gas, and she's now 26. I didn't want to tell her that I remember as a child watching my father fill the car and it was five cents per gallon and he was not pleased. Years later, when I started to drive, we had gas lines where the last number on your license plate (odd or even) determined what day you could buy gas. Even then, I could fill the tank with ten dollars and get back change. This is life changing for all of us, no matter where we live.

When DH and I were first married his family had a service station. Gas was .24 cents a gallon.I was working there during the "even/odd" days and it jumped way up to .45cents. As Clawton says, it is right around $4.a gal. in southern Maryland where I am.

Where in Florida are you? I live in Winter Haven.

gerryb by gerryb 10 Jun 2008

I remember the "odd/even" lines! One day I had to wait and wait in a line all the way out onto the shoulder of the road. As I was WAY back in the line, I turned off the car & every time one car would move out & we'd move forward, I'd open the door; push with my foot (had the car in drive but not turned on) and I'd roll down the hill 1 car length! Of course the power brakes & steering weren't active as the car wasn't on! I'd stomp on that brake to stop the car...I was young & dumb as I had a car load of kids with me! The Lord watches over fools, I guess!

Here in the UK petrol and diesel prices are rocketing - petrol is around £1.20 a litre and diesel £1.30: that's $2.48/$2.68 AUD, $2.34 / $2.53 USD, 1.51 / 1.64 Euros. A litre is about a quarter of a US gallon so that's about £4.80 a gallon petrol .... nearly $10 USD!!!! and £5.20 a gallon diesel .... over $10!!! Sheesh!! I think we win, but I wish we didn't!! Of course, a lot of the cost of fuel here is tax put on by the government, but I won't bore you by going into that...

    Love

In South Africa - R9.25 (ZAR) per litre. Our petrol price is regulated, but the diesel price, which is higher than petrol, is not. As Dianne from the UK says, our price is also made up of a high percentage of government tax.

Here in Oregon we are getting very close to the $5.00 a gallon. It is hard to give you the true amount, because as I type it has probably gone up another 3 to 5 cents a gallon. In USA it is our own fault,as each state has to have their gas refined a different way,and we do not have enough refineries, and can't build anymore. H & *'s

Yesterday I paid $3.89 a gallon here in Missuri, U.S.A. Deisel is much higher here also. I am missing my little 3 cylinder Geo Metro car it ran forever on one ten gallon tank, although it was built like a tiny shoe. Yesterday when I got gas the person before me on the pump I used paid a total of $89.00, that is crazy! That is not something I could afford. How many Litre to a gallon??
