Any hints or tips for sewing the velcro to the stoma pads please? xx

Oh! another thought...... there is a glue stick used by quilters to hold patchwork pieces together. Mine's like a pink thickish pencil. It just needs a tiny smear, dries quickly, holds well, washes out. That would work a treat on small velcro pieces while sewing them onto the pads. I guess any non-toxic glue stick would work along the centre back of the velcro.

Just a thought.....There is a soft velcro used for doll clothing and young baby clothes. I don't know if we can get it in Australia but it's available in USA.

I cut a half inch peice of velcro the cut from corner to the oposite corner to end up with 2 triangles , them just sraight stitched them with a reverse at each end.I understand they will only be used once.

Hi Monika, It seems such a waste to throw them out after one use. I've made mine so they can be washed. I've told Lynsey that she can put them in a laundry bag and be re-used that way. I hope she can, otherwise she's going to need thousands!!!!!!!! love Chris

The ones on the american web site for sale claim they are washable and I'm sure ours would be too. Maybe baby soap and softener??? xx

Would not use the kind with adhesive but Dritz does make a product that makes sewing through sticky Velcro a breeze. You put drops on the sewing machine needle. You might want to adjust the tension and try different feet.

Well, I cut my strips out stuck together. I placed the soft one on the top of the left hand side of the pad and the stickier one on the under side of the right hand side. I sewed them on by a small zig-zag and reversed the end stitch a few times so that the stitches wouldn't come undone. They turned out great. Love Chris

Did you do that on a sewing machine or ITH? That could be easily digitised as well, which would make the process even faster.

Sorry Martine - I did the sewing of the Velcro on the ordinary sewing machine. Fiddly work, as you can imagine. what a great idea about the digitising though. that would have been brilliant last night. I've done all mine and posted them off today to Lynsey in Hawer ACT. Love Chris
