i have a bernina aurora 440 when i do a design it keeps stoping after a few stiches and i have to press start button on machine.it comes up with sign on machine that looks like a x
33 Hi, Dorie! Welcome to Cute. I'm happy that you are here. I also have the Bernina Aurora 440 and freckledgoldfish is exact right. It's to clip the beginning tail of your thread. AND right again on the X. It means you have broken the top thread (probably from not clipping it)or you are out of bobbin. Clipping should just solve your problem completely. ;)
56812 I have a Bernina 440, too, and yes, it will automatically stop for you to cut the beginning thread when you are starting a design. A "X" sign usually means your thread has broken, or your bobbin thread is out. You need to click on the "S" looking (actually I think it's supposed to be thread) icon to the left and then click on the directional buttons next to the S and backup at least 10-1 stitiches. Make sure your thread is okay and start again.
92 I've got a Viking Iris and a Viking Designer 1. Both stop after a few stitches to let you cut the beginning of the thread so it does not get sewed into the design. Push the restart button and it sews to the next colour stop. I find it quite usual, on my other machines I have to stop the machine manually.

42470 Hi Dorie, I have also Bernina Aurora 440. Your machine isn`t broken ,if you are wondering that - it`s just stopping ( was it after 6 stitches) so that you can CUT the thread`s end! AND it does this in every design you embroider - this is programmed in this machine! Otherwise the thread could wind in the needle when your machine continues embroidering. Hope you understood my explaining , it`s so difficult to explain in foreign language. I understand better than I speak hee hee ...
1930 mops answer sunds about right. But I hadn't heard of this before. My machine just keeps going. It sounds like it is actually a good thing!
16098 I have a Viking Rose and it does the same thing.I have to keep restarting it. I have made sure the design is in it's limits. So, it might be with the design itself. Just stay by the machine.Good luck.

for the hoop or if, when the digitizer
converted it to your format, put it in the
wrong hoop.
Can you open it in your software and just
have a look at the design to make sure the
size and hoop are correct?
