An Etsy question.....
Hi all you wonderful cuties out there.
Thank you for welcoming me to the site....I
was overwhelmed by the welcomes---- thank
you all so very much.
Maybe some of you are thinking the same. I
have been wondering how people do selling
their creations on Etsy? Does any of you
sell on there or do you have your own
sites? I know how to do a web site -(I do
computer for a living) but not sure I want
to do my own. What do you think .....is it
worth it?
I live in a small town and the craft shows
are either people looking to get ideas or
just lookers. I do really well when I get
into a larger city but it is still much
work and I already have a full time job.

252 Just thought of another thing. We have a farmers market here that now allows crafters. In the summer, I do it every Friday that I'm not working. Make up some cards and keep them on your table. I get LOTS of call backs for special items. Also, I don't know how your town is, but I contacted the city to see if I needed permits, and I don't, so on a weekend that I don't have anything going on, I post sale signs around town and set my things up in the garage. Lots of people are looking for a sale of any kind. Again, have your cards out there for people to take.
1106 Sorry, no help here. I sell locally only. Try to get into some retail stores in your town. Lots of small boutique type stores will give you an area or a table. They just sell your things on consignment or lots of them will have you embroider on their products for special customer requests. Go in and purchase something and find out the owners name or initials and take it home and spice it up. Give it back to her and see what happens.;)

9507 Lyn, there are a few of the CUTE family that do sell on Etsy, not sure how well they are doing - they don't usually share that with me - perhaps they will come along and tell you - you are lucky - that you know how to build a page, too. *4U

I did think about it and am sure it would be fine with the boss - however I am the manager and only employee. I run a storage facillity and they also rent UHauls. So there isn't really the kind of craft traffic that comes thru. But it was a good suggestion - thanks

Etsy is a site where you can join and post items for sale. There are others but there again I think Etsy is more widely known.
7292 I do Etsy, but I'm not sure if I like it or not. You have to keep posting new things almost daily to keep your items up front. It's only 20 cents to post an item, but if you post something new at least every other day, it adds up. There are also a lot of people that go there just to get ideas and copy your things as well. I guess there are pros and cons to everything we do today.

paying to post you kinda would like to sell
something. 0;) Have you sold anything yet?
I could do my own site but......you know
how that goes - takes away time from the
embroidery...LOL

There is a one place but this town is so tiny but I have been putting out feelers. Great idea. I tease my husband that I am working on my retirement with the crafts.....LOL!
