being up at the hospital. He only wanted
the parents tonight and from tomorrow
onwards all the rest of the family will be
attending.
COOPER RAYMOND PENNIFOLD weighed 7lb 3ozs
and is 19 and a half inches long. He is
very red faced at the moment. Poor Naomi
was in labour for a long time and in the
end she had a Caesarian. She is very tired
and looking forward to a good sleep
tonight. It's been a long last 2 days
for her.
We are all thrilled and she is doing well.
Cooper has lots of hair on his head (for
the time being) with family genes like the
Pennifold men he won't have it for too
long!
Just wanted to let you see what he looks
like.
We are all very thrilled as you most
probably can tell.
Love and blessings to you all Chris
8462 Great pictures, Chris!! Little Cooper is cute, too!! Like I said in Deanna's post, I think Cuties have really cute babies for some reason, or I'm getting soft in my old age, hee hee hee. Is that reddish/blonde hair he has? I love the picture with Trevor and Ben, yep, poor little tyke doesn't have a prayer of keeping the hair, does he! I hope Naomi gets a good rest, poor thing, she looks tuckered out but happy. I can see you and Ben getting jaw cramps from smiling so big, hee hee hee. Congrats, Grandma, enjoy the first of your trio of new grands!! Hugs, love, Marji

Thank you Teresa - I put a note similar in
the paper yesterday. I said I hoped that
Cooper would bring them as much love and
joy as Ben had given us.

13506 Oh Chris! I'm so happy for you and your family! Congratulations!!! Cooper is a sweetheart! God bless you all, Yoriko
by pennifold 15 days ago
Thanks Yoriko. I'm happy too and
can't wipe the smile off my face. 1
down and 2 to go!
Cooper is so tiny - you forget how small
they can be. Our children were all bigger
than he is, but I know there are babies
born much lighter than he was.
We are all so very happy and thrilled that
it is all over. Naomi was even given the
option of speaking to a trauma counsellor
because of the huge impact of the labour on
her. She was amazed at that. I told her
that the brain usually lets you forget
about the pain and that you want to be back
within a couple of years having another
baby.
We'll wait and see. Love and
blessings Chris

Dear Chris, like the old Japanese saying, you forget the labor pain looking at the smile of your child. I think that is true, my first labor was too, very difficult, it had to be cesarian in the last moment. My three sons was born with cesarians, and in Yukio's pregnancy I stayed all the time in the hospital, he was born with 7 months, so small and so cute. I really miss those time when my kids were babies :) Hug and spoil your GS for me too :) Love Yoriko
by pennifold 13 days ago
That is so true - I told Naomi she will
forget the pain as our body has a way of
dismissing it. You are right about the
times when they are young too, it goes by
too fast and the next time you know they
are at school, then work, then off your
hands and having a family of their own.
Time stands still for no
"man".
Oh! but what enjoyable memories we all have
in our hearts and minds. Life, it is so
precious and so full of wonderment.
I am just so thankful that God has let me
see my children's children. I'm
not sure if I'll see my
children's children's children
though. If I live to my late 80's
then maybe I will! LOL!
Love to you my dear friend Chris
46502 chris you must have a permant smile on your face i find that grandchildren are even better then having my children it has to have been the most special time in my life and i chrish every day that i get to spend with them they are truly a gift from god and you have a very nice looking family enjoy them very much god bless mary
by pennifold 13 days ago
God bless you too Mary for taking the time
to add your comments. I too love Ryke and
Jasana to pieces and can't wait to
cuddle Cooper a bit more. It's so
hard in the hospital as there are so many
people around. Naomi is still tired and I
think she just wants to get home and settle
into a good routine. Hopefully on Tuesday
they will let her go. Ben is the one with
the permanent smile on his face. It's
so good that they have had a son - our name
carries on now too. Ben is the only
"Pennifold" boy, as Trevor's
brother had girls!
Thanks also for the comments about the
"good" looking family.
They're not too bad are they?
Love and blessings Chris
2271 Congratulations! What a beaatiful gift

Thanks Nanniesara, isn't He just a
miracle. But then all life is isn't
it?
We all love his name too - very unusual.
But my children love unusual names - my
daughter has RYKE for her son and JASANA
for her daughter.

2974 I love his name! He's is beautiful little boy and I want to thank you for the smiles. I can't look at the pictures you have posted without feeling the enormous joy displayed there. God bless all and give him grandma kisses from us all.;)
by pennifold 15 days ago
Thanks Jerrilyn - we are biased of course
and think he is a beautiful boy. I have
called Ryke that since he was born and he
knows my voice as soon as I say it. So I
am calling Cooper my beautiful boy
"2". I am just so thrilled that
God has allowed me to see my
children's children. God is good.

54368 Congratulations to you and your family. Lovely pictures.Cute name "Cooper". Hugs Lynn
by pennifold 15 days ago
Thanks Lynn - we are thrilled as you can no
doubt see with Cooper. I am pleased that
it's a name my Dad will remember too.
Dad has Alzheimer's and has difficulty
with his speech sometimes. His favourite
beer (he has 2 every day) is Cooper's
Ale from South Australia, so you see he
won't forget the Great-Grandson's
name in a hurry! Well I hope not.

surroundings.

by pennifold 15 days ago
Yes, children are such a blessing.
I was told long ago by a good christian
woman that our children are just on loan to
us and we have to teach them, train them
and love them and then let them go. Great
words of wisdom.

2422 Chris, what a thrill - congrats!!!! Thanks for sharing with us .... we love babies!!!!!!!* Hugs, Laura

Thanks Shirlene - yes I've already
given him something - a Wombie from America
and Naomi loves it. She put him in
straight away last night. I think
I'll have to order some more. Amy was
in tears when Ben rang her and Dana was
thrilled to hear about the new nephew!

29740 congratulations !!!! and thank you for sharing the pictures: lovely family!!

51373 Naomi does look very tired but happy! The rest of you you look like you are on cloud 9! Cooper Raymond Pennifold is a wonderful name for such a handsome little boy! Give Mom a couple of days and she will re-coop some of the sleep she lost. I am sure she is pretty sore right now and very relieved that it it over and all is well! Give Cooper a hug for all of us! Tell Naomi we are real proud of her and that we are also glad for her that it is over. Now she can just concentrate on spoiling him rotten! It really won't be long before the other two will be here to keep him company. Can you even imagine what it will be like with 3 toddlers running around at the same time? Everything will be 3 times the fun! Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures! Hugs to all! Linda
by pennifold 15 days ago
Thank you so much for the kind words Linda.
You are spot on with everything you say.
I can't wait for Naomi to be back home
and settled down. It's so noisy at
the hospital and you are always be pricked,
prodded, probed etc. just to see if
you're o.k.!
Love and blessings Chris
5962 Congratulations Chris for becoming a new grandma. It is such a wonderful event when a little one arrives. I hope Naomi will recuperate soon. Congratulations to the parents as well. Your life will never be the same.
by pennifold 15 days ago
Thanks Angie for your well wishes. Naomi
was up and walking today - tenderly but at
least she is up. As I said to Lillian the
hospital get caesar patients up pretty
quickly to get blood flowing and not to
become bed ridden. She will heal very fast
I am sure.
No truer statement has been made - our
lives have already changed with Ryke and
Jasana and now Cooper and another two due
in February and April-- wow!
Love and blessings Chris
7294 Oh the joy that comes when we witness one of God marvelous miracles, A new life. Glad everyone is doing well & the pictures are great. thanks Chris for sharing this wonderful even with us. *
by pennifold 15 days ago
That's certainly true Lillian. Naomi
was up and walking around today - they
don't let them stay still for long
these days. She is still very sore and
will be for a while, but moving helps.

daddy. Can't wait now to finish off
the quilt I'd made earlier for him.

11472 Congratulations Chris, he is lovely, and although mom is tired she looks so proud, as all of you do, but !!!It has been a long time since I have seen a photo of such a proud father. His smile says it all !!!!
by pennifold 15 days ago
Thanks Marietta, you're spot on there.
Naomi was very tired. Ben can't get
the smile off his face. If you remember
when I posted the picture of him when he
announced he was going to be a Dad the
smile on his face then said it all too.
Love and blessings Chris

Thanks Jacqui, I love all your cute
pictures where do you get them from? My
father will love this name - there is a
brand of beer from South Australia called
Cooper's Ale (Dad has Alzheimer's
Disease but he never forgets the name of
his beer! LOL!)and he just loves it.
We were all very tired, but so happy as you
can see. Poor Naomi, she had been through a
rough time and was looking very pale and
wan. Once she can move around a bit she
will be much better.
Love and blessings Chris
11236 Oh! by the way I forgot to mention Cooper
was born this morning 5.38am!!!!!
I gave Naomi a "Woombie" which I
saw as an advertisement against one of our
posts and thought what a good idea. She
put it on him straight away tonight and
gave him a feed and his little arms were
quite snuggled up in it.
Love and blessings Chris
1 down 2 to go - Dana is due in February
and my younger daughter Amy is due in
April.

Thanks Marji, I think he is cute. No, his hair is black. It was a bit hard to get a good picture of him, but I'll try later when I have more time with him. Ben has the same smile as me doesn't he? As you have observed Naomi was tuckered out. They came to my work today and I showed Cooper to everyone - he slept the whole time!!!!!
They are both tired - as he hasn't settled at night. I told them it will be a few weeks before he is in a proper routine. New parents don't get much sleep in the first month.
Love and blessings Chris
