I am looking for a good price on bulk bobbin thread. My Brother machine doesn't like the prewound bobbins so I have to wind my own.

It costs $8 for a 1800yd. spool of Coats & Clark @ Walmart and it is gettting a bit pricey for me.

I was somewhat reluctant on purchasing bobbin thread off of ebay, but the deal was great. Anyway, I have had NO trouble with this thread in both of my Baby Lock machines... it's VERY good!

Please feel free to either PM me about any sales you see or post it here in community! I must admit I didn't like the $7 shipping fee YIKES!

Where do you live sweetie? I think they are in Gastonia right off the Interstate. I actually went to Mt. Holly where they make Robison-Anton and was told they don't have an outlet to the public. Also, I have ordered from "The Embroidery Store" in Winston-Salem, NC and I think some of their threads are RA in disguise with their on Poly-X40 label. Do you know of this company?

I have also bought the big spool from LongCreek Mills. I have to stand and hold the spool in my hand while it fills bobbin ,because it doesn't fit on bobbin spindle. For that price, I don't care. That spool should last me for 5 years. Love it!!! I just looked it up and I paid $4.50 for 5,000m spool.

Kay you are a blessing lol Did you notice they have a heavy thread stand for only $7.95 that is a very good price I have one and LOVE it. It will keep you from holding the spool

also you can set the spool on a heavy glass if you do not have a spool holder but the holder is well worth the price you can use the big spools to embroidery I even buy embroidery threade on the big huge spools it las tlonger.

I have made my mind up I will buy the RA from shoppers rule and the 1500m spool for $2.00 from Long Creek Mills. Then I should be set for bobbin thread for quite awhile. ONE last question just out of curiousity do you think I can use the bobbin thread for fsl projects like some of the angels or snowflakes that I have? Really curious about that 120 wt lol

I use the YLI thread called "Lingerie and Bobbin Thread", it's very thin, maybe like 70 weight, and I think it's nylon. I get it from my dealer, and it's really expensive, but very good. It never ever breaks or causes problems. Do you know if the RA bobbin thread at Shoppers Rule is that thin? I'd love to be paying less, but I like the way the thin thread makes the designs less bulky. I looked at the website, but didn't see the weight listed, sure seems like a great price, though! I use Robison Anton poly embroidery thread, and like it very much. Hugs, Marji

I dunno what RA is lol I am hoping we find out. *

marjialexa by marjialexa 16 days ago

Oh, RA is Robison-Anton thread, they make a line of quality embroidery thread, both poly and rayon. I use the poly, my dealer sells it, it's great. That's why I thought the bobbin thread would be great too, if it's thin.

I found it for a higher price than at shoppers rule but the description says it is 80wt

Have you tried Long Creek Mills? They have a 1500m spool for $2.00 and a 5000m spool for $5.00. I have used it on my Brother Innovis 2500D without any problem. Go to Products-Bobbins-white. They're at the bottom of the page....Barb

Can you tell me about Long Creek Mills? Do you use their products? They seem to have excellent prices on stabilizer, etc. Thanks, Marji

    Marji,
I have used tearaway stabilizer from Long Creek Mills, and it's been fine. I also have used the bobbin thread without any problem; so far, so good. They have an excellent warranty on their products, so it might be worth a try....Barb

Is this right it is a 120 wt? The thinnest I've ever seen is 90 wt advertised. The coats & Clark I get is 70 wt.

I purchased the bobbin thread from R&A. I have a Babylock machine. I can not use it for the bobbin thread, it pulls thru to the top. The only thing that works for me is the Finishing Touch, and it is very expensive. Wish I could help. I am also looking for a bobbin thread that will work that is cheaper. H&*.

Miss Charlie - try Shoppers Rule - they have different types, but RA 10,000 yard spool for less than $10 - hope that helps.
