ok heres a baby quilt question....I would like to put larger flower buttons on this quilt....It will be for my granddaughter...If I use invisible thread which is really strong or a fine fishing
line, do you think this will be safe enough....They are both really strong and I doubt it could be pulled off if I tied it correctly....

89927 I like the suggesion of doing a tiny embroidery on it. Maybe your machine even has some little designs you can space here and there to hold it...mine has a lot of children stitches I've used for things like that. Don't have to hoop the quilt that way. But do put a bit of tearaway stabilier under the spot before you stitch it. Will make it look much nicer.
6643 If you need additional advice, in my medical practice experience, I have seen this thread wrapped around a tiny little toe and the toe becoming very sick due to some nylon thread - invisible! Don't use it or buy anything with it for little ones.

548 11472 I love Shirlene's idea--a FSL button shaped like flower. You can do it in matching colors. (Even pillows should not be a crib with baby, but I'm sure Mom knows that)

9516 You can use a button that is too big to fit through a toilet paper tube as that is the toy company criteria for size. That way if it were to come off, it would not pass down the esophagus. You could make a yo-yo type fabric looking button and stitch it totally on. I'd be too scared to use regular buttons.

29376 I was going to put buttons on my baby quilt but remembered warnings about kids and buttons so decided to use the embroidered buttons. There are many to choose from and do look sweet.
