I traded my Janome in for another machine about 3 yrs. ago. Hope all works out well for you dear.
9516 Yes, Janome is a good machine.
Let's eliminate the obvious. You do
have the foot up when you thread your
machine? Good.
Next, when you thread your machine, have a
close look at the gap on the front of your
machine where the thread goes. Make sure it
is all the way in. If it isn't, you
will have to rethread it and try again. If
this happened, the thread would have worn a
groove inside the tension thingy and will
just slip in there all the time.This means
that it is not in the tension thingy
properly, therefore you have this problem.
I don't know how clear this
explanation is. I had the same problem. It
is not the fault of the machine.
My dealer was able to fix it by sanding the
groove down a bit, but I still have to be
careful how I thread my machine. He told me
eventually I will need to get it replaced,
but so far so good.
19558 Keep us posted as to what the problem was! Yes, it's a tension problem, BUT it's the tension the machine is giving YOU that's the problem! (It well could also be the machine tension).
6643 Short of jumping up and down, I would "back them against a wall", so to speak. Tell them that you are NOT HAPPY, and keep telling them that. Do not soften up regardless of their excuses and or explanations. If they see that you are not impressed with their stories, they are more apt to take you seriously. Then, discuss repairs versus trade in or replacement, and definitely do all that you can to get a loaner while they have your machine. They certainly owe you that much! I have found out that being civil but FIRM goes a long way with negotiations. Good luck. Please let us know what the result was. Barb

Hi there,it is looping the thread underneath,starts off about every ten stiches by the time you have done a few hoopings its looks like a fringe with big loops that would look good if you were making santa's beard. hohoho
11472 I do not blame you, I would not be happy either. What exactly is your problem with it? If it is a fairly new machine, you should request a replacement for it. What does your dealer say about all this?

We havent talked about replacement as yet,they seem to think it is a tension problem. Today when i go in i will ask what my chancws are,maybe i should jump up and down,[hehehe] can you talk when you are jumping.

54385 I feel for you! When I first got my Brother 700II, I had the same problem. I think I sent it back for repairs 4 times in 2 1/2 months. I was so frustrated I could scream. I actually had gotten a new machine 2 of those times. I guess the third machine was the "charm". I have been very fortunate with the last one. SO FAR...don't wanna jinx myself!! I hope your problems are solved quickly and satisfactorily!

7183 I have had mine in 3 times and this time it
has been there for over a week this time
I called Friday and he said we ordered a
mother board for it yestersay may have it
done monday .I am sitting here waiting for
it so I can get out some orders that is why
I bought a new one in the first place did
not want to sit and wait for the old one to
be repaired.
I feel for you .I hope they get them both
fixed soon it is awful to sit here at
Christmas time with out a machine.I have 14
items that needs to be out by the 5th. the
lady wanted them done for a quilt show.

It sounds like they have found a solution for your machine,hopefully you have no more problems. Gosh today is the 2nd in AUS. you will be embroidering in your sleep.
7862 Jump up and down and scream - well - that is what I would do - I suppose - go to the repair shop - let them know what has happened - AGAIN - ask them how they are going to FIX it this time - so that you will not have to be back. Hugs!

You got yours fixed in record time, so jumping up and down while screaming must work. Or maybe the shop didn't like you camping out in front of the door with your sleeping bag, mumbling "open, open, open." :)

89927 Whatever you do, take the
'problem' stitching with you!
Take your hoop with the design you're
trying to stitch out, your thread, your
bobbin, everything! First, it helps the
serviceman see what the problem is exactly.
Second, it may be something you're
doing, the design is doing, the hoop is
warped, heaven only knows. If the
serviceman puts on his hoops, his material,
his thread, you never know where the
problem actually is coming from. If
you're having problems with a t-shirt,
and he hoops up a piece of quilter's
cotton, that's no real test!
Also, don't just tell him the problem,
make him plug in the machine and run the
problem right in front of him. You want to
make sure he sees what it's doing.
I'm not normally an advocate of
'obnoxious', but after dragging
the machine in three times, I think you
deserve to be a bit, um, loud. Let's
call it 'persistent'. Don't
take no for an answer when he says
'I'll check it out and get back
to you." Simply say, "No, I want
to have you look at it with me, I can stand
here and wait all day if necessary. Then I
can talk to your customers, too." Say
that 'sweetly', hee hee hee,
I'm sure you know how. He'll get
the point.
I am so sorry to hear this happen to so
many people! I just want to say that my
dealer, Super Stitch in North East, PA,
USA, is one of the finest dealers on the
planet. Rick, the owner and machine repair
person, looks at the problem WITH you, and
diagnoses it in front of your eyes. Often
he does the 'fix' right then,
because with my Janome 300E it's
usually something very simple that needs to
be adjusted. Um, usually because I've
messed it up somehow, hee hee hee. That
man has unlimited patience with us, he
deserves a Gold Star, for sure.

I have tried all the above,my dealer and his wife have gorn out of their way to fix my machine,i think it needs to go back to the manuacture,it has had problems from new. It is very frustrating,this close to christmass,evan though i start in January there is still alot to be compleated. This morning i have packed up my machine plus the hooped design that i was working on and other samples that i have done to show them. Also a basket with hand sewing that i intend to do while i sit there and wait. The problem is that it will compleat one hooped embroidery ok then each one after starts to loop underneath,by the time you have embroidered four or five hoopings it will have a birds nest underneath. A few days ago they thought it was the bobbin holder and a new one was put in. Befor that they were working on the tension. It is a well know brand machine,at first i thought it was something that i was doing or not doing right. I go to classes at this outlet,they have told me my technique is fine. It shouLd be replaced with another machine,i very much dought if that will happen. Will keep you updated. Heather.
