My first question is: what is the technical difference between Alphabet and font ?And second question how do you do to writte a name/text with any kind of alphabet to position them to right place?

I got a font when I bought my machine, a pfaff creative 2.0, and I set my font, its size and I type in the machine the name I want. So I would like to do that with all the font and alphabets I have and in particular the peony alphabet bought at KatieDo embroidery. It looks like a hand writting, beautiful but difficult to position letter by letter !
Thank you in advance for your answers!

I did buy BuzzWord for this. You do need to add all the letters for any font or alphabet that you already own. I do have BuzzEdit also. But $129 is a lot of money just to make my life easier but to me it was worth it. Here a flower

I think alfabeth is the letters A-Z .And font is the way of writing(embroidering) these letters A-Z, so for instance curly,or very bold or with little decorations. To use the letters in an embroidery ,Iris2006 told you already you must line up in Embroidery program. *4u

Great question!! You've got an eye for details! I'm so glad you asked for input about alpha/fonts. You will delight many with your designs, I'm sure.

The letters you collect are to be treated as every embroidery design: combine and space them by hand in your software. Quite an exacting job. So it's easiest to use them for monograms.
The fonts your software has (or your machine)can be used in a different, and far more pleasant way: you type them in and they are spaced automatically, in my 3D software one line at a time, in the newer 4D a whole recipe or a poem, as if you were typing them in Word.

    Unfortunately I don't have a 3D software.
So I will carry on using them as monogram !I was hoping it would be an easier way. Thank you for your answer.

You have to line up every letter from an alpha in your softwareprogram. That is a difference with the fonts you have in your pfaff machine. Sorry for that but it'd tthe only way to use the alpha's. Good luck
