She would prefer applique if possible. She
wants me to make all sorts of different
fabrics on the quilt so that it is tactile
for the baby. E.g. corduroy, satin,
cotton, wool, etc. etc. etc. I would like a
monkey that looks like a monkey, but she
said she doesn't mind if it is of a
naive style. And would you believe I have
bought all this fabric in colours of Africa
that "I" thought would be
fantastic and it's not what she wants
at all. She wants the quilt to be only 3
colours, tan, cream and white! Oh! well
the best laid plans often go astray! I
will still have to make something with all
this gorgeous fabric I have - back to the
drawing board for me!!!!!!! I'm
laughing my head of at this!

8462 Here are some really cute monkeys. There is even an "African Monkey" with a special textured fill pattern. These designs are also all 60% off too!!
477 Chris, there was the three monkeys on cute
, those
like" hear no evil , see no evel,
speak no evil. I saw it on cute but
can't remember when. Love Marie

Thanks Marie, yes, I had a look at those,
but I have bought the Anita Good designs
today and they will arrive next week.
Thanks for thinking of me - love and
blessings Chris
4335 monkeys at buystitch are only $5 - $8 a set. Emblib also has some. Hope you find some you like. I did the same thing, bought all kinds of gorgeous fabric for these adorable monkeys and then my neice told me I had to stick to brown/blue/beige. It was hard to stay enthused! Good luck, San
by pennifold 29 Sep 2009
Thanks for the information San - I ended up
buying the Baby Monkeys Designs by Anita
Good Designs from a dealer in Melbourne,
Australia. She said the CD will arrive at
my place sometime next week. Thanks for
the site names.
Love and blessings Chris
730 Chris, hope this helps. *4U

Hi Shirlene, this is exactly what I was
looking for - thanks heaps and what a
wonderful designer she is.
I have never seen her site before and love
all her "things". I think
I'll have to get the credit card out
for this lady!
Can't wait to start this one!

Chris, I am happy that you like the Anita Goodesign site - but it is a man that is the designer - his name is Steve Wilson - he has a lady partner - and the site is named after his GM or Mother. I hope you enjoy that set. Can't wait to view what you do with them.
by shirlener88 28 Sep 2009
I hope you clicked on the PDF file to see what they have as the project that they did with them.
by pennifold 28 Sep 2009
Oops! I didn't know the designer was a
man - he is an excellent digitiser! I have
ordered it from Melbourne Australia as I
couldn't get onto a direct site in
America - I didn't know which state to
buy it from. So I thought I might as well
look here and sure enough there is a dealer
in Victoria. It will arrive next week the
lady says. So I'll get it the
following week. I absolutely loved the
Monkeys set - thanks so much for all your
hard work. It sure helps asking the Cute
community - there is always someone who
knows where to go.
Love and blessings Chris
P.S. Yes I looked on the PDF and printed it
out - in black and white to save my printer
from too much colour.
89893 I thought I'd show you the fabrics
that I had bought for Amy's African
quilt. When she popped in after the High
Tea yesterday and I showed her, she said,
Oh! I'm sorry Mum - I only want 3
colours, Tan, Cream and White!
So off to my fabric stash these will go!
I'll make something out of them
eventually! You never know what I'll
come up with!
As you can see I bought 13 lots of fabrics.
All the ones lying on the African printed
are 1/2 a metre and the African print is a
metre. So there is a lot there!
They're not bad are they Sandy?

I agree with the rest, the monkey shine on organ patch is the best monkeys yet.
by shirlener88 28 Sep 2009
Oh my - these are lovely - can't wait to see what you end up doing with them and also what you and your daughter pick out to work with. *4U
by pennifold 28 Sep 2009
Unfortunately Shirlene - she doesn't
like any of these fabrics!
I'll have to go and buy some new
materials with her - she knows what she
wants!

lovely too.

44630 Chris, it's always a whole lot easier
to laugh at things our children
'do' to us than to cry - that
blurs our make-up.
I would love a quilt with African style
animals - what color are your fabrics?
Can't you imagine it with lions, and
tigers, and bears . . . Oh, my! wrong song.
by pennifold 27 Sep 2009
Hey Sandy, you're on the same
wavelength as me! I thought I had some
awesome fabrics - and then Amy said - sorry
Mum I only want 3 colours!!!! Oh! well
into the fabric stash they go.
She has suggested we go shopping for the
fabric together! I'll love doing that
- don't get enough time to spend with
her - she is so busy working full time!
I'll add a picture of all the fabrics
I bought - I'll use them though in
something else.
Just got this picture of Dorothy winding
her way through the enchanted forest
singing that song..... Lions, tiger and
bears Oh! my!
Thanks again Sandy, love and blessings
Chris
1455 There was a (free then) monkey alpha on
Oregon Patch Works a while ago. Hope that
you get to enjoy the fabric you bought for
yourself
I am sure a few years down the line of
motherhood for your daughter she will be
delighted with your choice of offerings
Happy sewing whatever
by pennifold 27 Sep 2009
Thanks for your "empathy" with me
re the fabrics! Go figure - I'll take
a photo of them all so you can see what
they all look like.
I've had a look at OPW and they are
lovely too.

7507 I hope you find the monkeys. Maybe Tubby

believe but I dont have any monkey in my
collection...no mouse too :) Love, Yoriko
