Treat your basting file (created by moi) as
a design and if possible save it to your
embroidery machine so it is easy to recall
when you need it. If not, just upload it
before your design.
First hoop your stabiliser, pin the
material (and any topping you may need) to
the stabiliser making sure the pins are
ACROSS the stitch path, point towards the
hoop, not the centre.
WARNING::: Be careful that the pin heads
are not in the path of the needle as you
could damage your machine if your needle
hits one.
Make sure that your material is taut but
not drum tight.
Stretchy material needs to be stretched a
little to allow for the design to sit
nicely when the garment is being worn. (a
whole other subject).
If your machine has a slow speed use that
or stop a few times while stitching as the
basting stitches are large and will be very
quick to stitch out.
Slowly stitch the material (& any
topping) to the stabiliser, removing pins
as needed and making sure you are happy
with the placement and tautness of both.
Upload your design, stitch it out, then
remove your basting stitches.
Make sure you use any colour that you can
see easily on your fabric, such as yellow
on red, black on white etc.
Please remember to cut either the bobbin or
top thread, in several places, to
facilitate easy removal. NEVER pull the
basting stitches out in one long length in
case it damages your material.
Please note I have TAGGED this message
"BASTING" so that if you ever
need to find it again just type the word
into the search box above tags.

13509 Wow Meg, thanks for writing this, you're soooo good to us sweetie, love and hugs for all your time and effort. I'm assuming that you've put basting files up in the 'Designs By Cuties' area, thank you very much for them, I'll have to go and find them.

Whoa! hold on Ruthie, they're not in D
by C as it's better for me to create
individually for each person.
Just email me your hoop/s stitch area size
in inches, AND your format and I'll
create them for your hoops and send them to
you.
