Hi Cuties, did anyone tried to embroider / embellish her leather boots? Is described as beginner and EASY. Looks horrible. Where to put the "shoe" of the boot while embroidering?

Instruction says: hold it. Doesn't sound "easy" but exhausting.
Any hints or experiance?
Project instruction here, have a look

But if it works as described: wouldn't this be FANCY?
Thinking about some pawprints sneaking around.

Actually it's not that difficult. You have to support the heel so it won't drag or catch on something. You can't hoop the boot in a regular hoop, and I wouldn't try it with a heavy leather. A continuous hoop works because it clamps shut. We have done lots of these at work. Haven't tried it at home yet. Mainly because I don't wear boots. It also works great on vinyl boots. Don't use a dense design. Open paisleys or flowers look great. And you can bling them up with crystals.

    Thanks, that encurages me.
Will try it. Maybe I will wait untill 6 of december, when germans put their boots outside, awaiting "Saint Nikolaus" at night to fill the shoes with sweets. I could try a lot before ruin my own ones. ;-)

Eva, you are toooo funny!!! And you'd get the sweets, too, if you followed St. Nikolaus! hugs, Marji

I've got an old pair, too old to wear, too good to throw away. That might be just the thing to experiment on. It would be a nice way to change an ordinary pair of boots into something spectacular.

It almost might be worth getting a pair of boots to try this, it would be soooo different. I like the pawprint idea, Eva! Hugs, Marji

the pdf says that you have to hold the 'shoe' of the boot while embroidering and it should be in a continous hoop. You sure would have to be patient while working on a boot and hooping it and making sure it was aligned - just right - but the whole proecess would be worth the effort. *4U
