I thought "glue", um, why would I use that... didn't know it dried clear and you have this awesome glitter that doesn't flake off... sooooo cool! I think I'm going to bling, bling everything, including Rosie's dog tags! This is just too wild!
26946 Yes, I have used it. I have girls! If you put it on fabric, experiment with washing. The ones from many years ago would crack after a while. They were also very stiff which can be OK depending on what you put it on and how much space you put it on. I hope they have improved but since my early experience I only use it on paper crafts and such.

Hey! I still drag out my Christmas shirts with that stuff on it!! (Yes, it has started to crack away, so may not be used this year!)

Oh my...the 80s! Gotta love that era. I remember using fabric paint, but never glitter glue. This has opened a world of "woo hooo hooo" for me!
21992 when can we see the projects? what's the name of this glue?
by simplyrosie 04 Aug 2009
I already gave the project away this morning... lol... I made a lovely butterfly and blinged it up with glitter, metallic thread and pearls... WOWWWWWY! It was stunning. But I wanted to give it to my friend here at work because it matched her outfit... so I'll make another one tonight.

wow, a nice assortment of colors for every little thing you can find - great!
26946 I decided I need glitter glue also. So I went to createforless.com and found some that has little stars and things in it,called chunky glitter glue. You do have to buy in sets of 4 but you know you need more than 1 color anyway. Shine On!
4873 Come on Rosie--'fess up. What are you really making with the glitter glue and the sequins? (if you find them) Is there another side to you? :) Inquiring minds want to know.
7174 lololol Teri, yes I have been using this for about 2 years now, great isn't it? Have fun with it
13506 Teri, you crack me up! Bling, bling everything, huh? I do like it too, however! But for some strange reason, hadn't thought to use it on my ornaments! Tks!
6641 I just threw away about 10 bottles from my craft closet that had dried out....I think it's been there more than a decade! It is a fun, fun, fun discovery!

11234 I've used it for years (Girl Scouts, daughters, and grandaughters) but never thought to use it on embroidery. I think what I have is water soluable, so I'll have to look for the permanent kind. Great idea!
5125 oh my i can see it now glitter glue everywhere i have never tried it either

102 Yes, I know of it too.. I don't know
if U remember the "Retierment Fishing
Jacket" I did up for My Husbands
Boss... I put some on the water to make the
water glissen, It was beautiful! I
didn't get a chance to take the
pic's of it before it was given
away... Now I can't as they moved
away... Anyway, It's a wonderful item
to have on hand...
Thanks for the reminder...
Sam :)

Sam, so you can use this on fabric that is washed too? I didn't know it could be laundered... wow, I'm going to bling the heck out of things!!!!
by sambsranch 04 Aug 2009
I put a small line on my finger and spread
it around to make a fine smear, did it that
way all over the water... It didn't
make the jacket stiff at all... Over Time
it will wash some away but will have to
re-aply if needed... I did it very fine
covering...
Sam :)
2903 Oooh, I hated it.
I found that the amount of glitter that
came out with the glue was inconsistent and
I couldn't get nice fine lines without
it bleeding onto areas I didn't want
it and the glue dried out before I got to
use the whole bottle so I ended up with 5
half full useless bottles of glitter that I
couldn't get to come out of the
bottles.
I still prefer the original ordinary
glitter and I can choose the type of glue I
want for whichever type of project I'm
doing. I use a toothpick for fine lines and
dots, paddlepop sticks, paint brushes and a
multitude of other tools for fills and I
offload any excess glitter onto a clean
sheet of paper so I can pour it back into
its bottle for next time. I use ModPodge if
I want to seal the glitter.
But that's just my preference, it
works for me.
Maybe you have a better choice of product
in the States than what I purchased
here.
Hugs n roses, Meganne

4394 May I ask where did you purchase the glitter glue?
by sewmom 04 Aug 2009
I get mine at craft stores and school supply stores. Sometimes even the local drug store in the school and art section.
by michelej 04 Aug 2009
Shirlene.....you have K-mart in the USA?
We don`t have a Walmart but do have K-mart
by simplyrosie 04 Aug 2009
I bought mine at Joann's, but I've seen it at Walmart, Toys r Us and the 99 cent store. I used my coupon and bought a set of 5 colors for just over 2.00....good deal if you ask me! :-)
126 Yes I have used it and had a pattern with sheer material to show the design through, but started to tear at edges. Put glitter glue around the edge and fantastic results and who would have guessed it was to safe the design lol.

I should post a picture of a shirt I made in the 80's. (Hopefully I can't find it LOL). We used to put an iron on backing on floral fabric then cut out along flower lines. Then take the floral cut outs and place them on the neckline of a t-shirt. Glue the edges with glitter glue and when it dried, cut away the top neckline ribbing. Did the same idea in the middle of shirts with teddy bears for the kids. Wow! Flashback!
