URGENT PLEASE : Question for the digitizer:

did you put on the bill for design an embroidery? If yes, what price? The boss of my son (a baker) calls me an embroidery design from its existing logo and I do not know if I need to charge or not ... Thanks in advance for your answers !!!

Sylvie, if I were an artist, and created a logo for the baker, then I would expect him to use it on his business cards, stationery letterhead, envelopes, return address labels, website, wherever he wanted. It would be his logo to do with what he pleased, and if he wanted to have it digitized to put on his employees uniforms, that would be ok, too. Usually when a person has an artist create something specifically for them, it is considered theirs because they have paid the artist for it, it no longer belongs to the artist. So I would not think it would be a problem for you to digitize his logo, since he owns it. And by all means, charge for your time, depending on how long it takes you to do it. That can be a lot of work, more than sewing it, so you should charge like a professional. Good luck, this is an exciting venture for you!! Hugs, Marji

Marji, finally, the numbering of this logo took me 5 hours I have to charge 5 € per hour (which is very reasonable).
In France, things do not happen exactly the same in the creation of a logo ... it may be that the logo has existed for several generations and is in the public domain ... I think this is not the same abroad... In any case thank to all cuties for trying to help.

Is this the logo at the top of the page? It's you who created it or did you just digitize from a logo that already exists?

I'm not sure but I think you are asking if you should charge for digitizing the logo, in addition to charging for doing the embroidery. YES, charge for your time. You also need to do as Mary suggests.
