I always do a "test stitch" of new designs and have now collected quite a few of these samples, what do other cuties do with their "tests" other than making a quilt?

I use them as focal points on the cards that I make.

You can also use these samples to make a toy box, cover it with all the samples sewing together and fit the box or basket inside a sort of sack. Or a dirty clothes basket. Enjoy Love Marie.

Some of them could be made into a baby-book. Just fuse them together in pairs, use pinking shears to cut the edges. Either stitch the back of the book together or make buttonholes in each page and hold together with a ribbon.

I trim them out, finish off the edges with a zig-zag stitch, and use them as decorative ptches for clothing, or tote bags. Sometimes I just stitch three edges on to a tote bag and make a pocket.

Use them for patches, pillows u can sew them on another piece of material, then put on purses just about anything. *

i often do my test cases on organza and cut them out and glue them on bags of wew them on t-shirts for my bys
or i doo them on felt and put them on a hole in one of my childrens pants

Grafiau, I have collect quite a few of these too. I was testing in a big peace of flanel(spell?), but I thought it was a waste, then I bought another fabric, cut in peaces for quilting and I'm embroidering on those. I'm planning to use them for a quilt, now collecting information how to make one :). Love, Yoriko

I too had thought about a quilt, but the designs are all so differant and dont have a theme, I thought they may look a little odd all pieced together in a quilt as I have just been using up fabric scraps that have a similar weight and thread count to what I intend to stich on. I pick up cheap face washers from Ikea for the towel "tests" and keep my eye out in "OP" shops for furnishing fabric bits, it would be the craziest quilt ever! When I do a test , I use them for a patch on the kids jeans. They love them. The girls love having them put on their doll clothes.

Ask at your Local Hospital if they have a group of ladies that do sewing for the hospital or cancer patients. here a group make compfort pillows, quilts & tops for the children as well as adults. they also make aprons, pots mits etc for fund raising. or u can give to a group that sews for the needy. U can also do this yourself if u know a family in need, parcel up & give. Most churches have a section for this also. Have fun giving. *4u all

You could use them as a badge and sew it on a jeans, bag, apron or just name it.
