not so!! There is the same Children's Alpha, but the digitizer is Chris, one of SiCK's digitizers. Tubby doesn't digitize for SiCK. Just because the ARTWORK looks the same, don't assume it's the same DESIGN. Artwork is available, from Clipartopolis, Clipartoon, countless places on the web, and unless it's exclusive (one purchaser) or semi-exclusive (usually 6 purchasers), that art can be purchased by literally hundreds of digitizers. And each digitizer will do it differently!! You could get some that will put the art into a program, hit auto-digitize and have 10 designs in 20 minutes, and they will all be horrible. Another digitizer will be like Tubby, and take care to make sure the pathing is right, there aren't tons of jumps, and test sew it until it's perfect and ready for sale. Please don't jump to the conclusion that if you see what looks like the same design, that it IS the same design, it might only be the same artwork. By the way, if you look at the designs on SiCK, you can see who the digitizer is, and even read their bio! Oh, I'm not saying Cindy's digitizing of the alphabet is bad, just that Tubby didn't digitize the one on SiCK, gotta make that clear, ok?

I was just having a FYI moment, but I thought some might appreciate knowing. You all have a beautiful evening/morning!! Hugs, Marji

Many of us needed to hear this. I don't know anything about digitizing but would love to someday. This explains how the designs are on several sites I have visited.

Thanks for explaining that. It had crossed my mind but only a flash. I had wondered who actually got it from whom but If they did not mind why should I. Now I know how I have seen several of the same designs done by more than one person. Like... the Easter alpha that showed up in three places at once. I got Cutes and let the others go by! Now, I do not remember who even had the others. I really do not know why I did not realize why there were ore than 1 of some designs floating around but it just did not cross my mind. I do not digitize nor do I want to so it did not filter through my brain. All I knew was that they were not the same colors. Now I feel stupid! Thanks for the input. I learned something new today. Glad you learned something, Linda, but don't feel dumb for not knowing, a lot of people don't really think about it! Hugs, Marji

Correct, looking alike and being the same quality are not the same. Everything I have freebied or bought from him has sewn out without flaws. Tubby does beautiful work.

Nice explanation, Marji. Remember the blue work princesses? MaryMoore did some, I did one, Veronika did a couple (without the eyes). Sick has had (still has I think) quite a number of series from artwork by Clipartoon freebies, often only a day after they are given for free. The digitizer must work 24 hrs a day or autodigitize to get them done that quickly!

Good explanation. I remember about a year ago, I saw designs on Sick that were similar to some here and some one explained to me. I feel others have seen web sites that have similar designs an wondered about it. That is why I really appreciate original designs but often they are licensed and then you are so limited as what you can do with them.

Good to know. I, too, saw some designs on different sites that are FREE and I actually paid for them on another site. It makes me feel better now that the one I actually paid for is most likely better. Thanks for clearing that all up!

I have seen many of the same designs on other sites and have always known that the clip art is sold to many. The jack in the box that I put in Designs by Cuties was in a coloring book that my granddaughter has. I scanned it in and gave it a shot. I know that it has lots of flaws, but like I said it was my first try. Last month I was on a, I think, German site and low and behold there was the jack in the box. The only differences I could see was it was facing right where mine is facing right, the colors and it is much better than mine. But I am catching on. I did a set of girly stuff (hairdryer, brush, mirrow, ect,) that a clipart site gave away as a freebie, but have not gotten to test them yet. As soon as I do, I plan to put them here at cute. God only knows when that will be, hopefully soon. The Gdaughters have me making sundressed and night gowns right now, and as we all know, they come first. Tubby's designs are great and I enjoy them and am thankful that he shares them with us. Prayers and God's blessings, Libbie.

Keep trying to improve your digitizing, Libbie, you'll get lots of encouragement here. We have lots of good digitizers here at Cute very willing to help. Hugs, Marji

Hi there Marji,

Thanks for keeping ever so alert on this wonderful site.

I just love Tubby's digitising and am just so thankful that he is a fellow Novocastrian. He sent me an email saying the quilt looks good. That was lovely of him to take the time to tell me. All I have to do now is get it all together. Can't wait for that, but in the meantime I'm up to my eyeballs in holy spirit flames etc. for Sunday. Paperwork is piling up all around me - check out piccie!

Love and blessings Chris

Being a fellow Anglican, I know what you mean, Chris, but I confess I had a picture in my mind of you being literally 'flamed' by the Holy Spirit, think Gary Larson, surely hope the Spirit has a sense of humour, hee hee hee. Luv ya, Marji

Thanks for the insight. I have seen similar items in SICK and wondered if they were the same. I even thought that maybe they were using someone elses stuff and calling it their own. When I saw the digitizer's name I realized that it looks similar but it wasn't another person's work. I didn't know that Cute stuff was exclusive, but I should have realized that. I will keep this in mind when I'm looking. There is very good work done by the cuties.

A LOT of Cute's stuff is exclusive, unique, but not ALL. There are some things here from Clipartopolis and other sites, but I find that Cute's digitizing style is unique on most things, that's what I love about it, too. Hugs, Marji

Oh, yes, Mary, I remember that whole big flap! This is a nice design, and I forgot you had this. Someone the other day was looking for a blue heron design, and I don't remember who! If you feel like paging back, maybe you can help her. This is a blue heron, right? Duh. Hugs, Marji

Thanks for the information. I wondered why so many people were taking credit for the same design. Upon further inspection (sounds so professional) I see the designs are different--but still too much alike for me. When I buy a design, I want it to be different.

"Upon further inspection", hee hee hee, you need to find digitizers that purchase 'exclusive' artwork, as mentioned above. Artistic Thread Works does, I'm pretty sure, cause I don't see a lot of their stuff elsewhere. I recognize the style of the art, but when I go to the clipart website, that particular piece is not there, so I assume it's exclusive to ATW. Veronika here at Cute has a lot of exclusive art that no one else has, and Viv at Rose Cottage does a lot of her own artwork. I used to be an artist, wish I could get that revved up again somehow. But that's how I ended up being so attracted to Cute, because the digitizing was great, and the art was different from everybody else. Hugs, Marji
