Hey, stork, you've got me a little confused. When you 'collect' something from the internet, that's when you 'download' it, right? Or do you just make a list of where you want to go to download things? When I go get a design, whether here on Cute or elsewhere, when that grey box asks if you want to 'run' or 'save', and you hit 'save', you have the option of saving it anywhere you want to on your computer. I never sort designs, I just save them directly into their proper folder. Example: I have a Cute folder, and in that folder I have folders labeled 'flowers', 'applique', 'cats', whatever i want. When I saw the applique sunflowers, I made them their own folder in the Cute folder, and download right into that. I know where they came from, and they're already filed. If I want them, I know right where they are. I don't understand where you would be downloading TO, if not folders on your computer. I may be having a blonde moment here, but sounds like y'all are going to a lot of trouble you don't need to. Also, did you know, that if you RIGHT click on the design file, you can go into 'properties', and there places to tag your file, label where it's from, and write notes about it? Really helpful when you can't remember where you got it, or if you're going to use designs for sale items, you can put the copyright info right into the design file. As I said, I'm having a FYI day today, hee hee hee. Hugs, Marji

WHAT? Why didn't you tell me this months ago! I've just been clicking away, saving them under whatever the creator named them, and then going back, unzipping, and naming them something that makes sense to me. Whatever that is! Now, because of YOU, I need to go download something right now, and do it your way. :)

I think the downloading part is easy. . . it's creating files, renaming, deleting some bad ones, and tagging so you can find a design later when you need it. I try to do a few a day, but if you're DL so many, you'll never catch up! Hate it when that happens :)

How long did it take you to download? It will have been worth every minute

I worked on it for a full day and a half without getting anything else done. My 4 yr old GD was very understanding those days. Just glad it's done..I promise myself never to go that long again.

Stork, you are so right, it takes along time to download, then it takes me even longer to put them in some kind of order. H&*
