Hi Cuties, I'm so happy I want to shout it from the rooftops. The 8th of May my new granddaughter was born. She's my 7th grandchild, but the greatest wonder of them all.
My daughter had leukaemia since age 11, and her chemo in 1998/1999 almost killed her, so it had to be stopped. It affected her liver in such a way she was on a transplant list for years, but slowly, ever so slowly, she recovered and she's been in remission ever since. And although docters warned her she might never have children after that, last year she was told she might try, but must be prepared for miscarriages (and had one) and now she has a daughter, 12 days over due, after hours of labour she had a C-section. Nothing ever went easy for her. But now there's Ruth and I've never been as tearfully happy in my life, not even when my own were born! Rejoice with me!!

I just got my hair shorn for summer, my Marine haircut, 'high & tight' some of you will know, and this child has longer hair than I do! Martine, keep her away from our Meggie, she'd surely want to snatch away that mop of hair, hee hee hee. What a precious baby, do enjoy every minute of her in your arms. Love, Marji

I am so happy for all of you but especially your daughter, her husband and Ruth. She has been through alot in her life and has overcome it all to bring a wonderful tiny life into this world. Ruth is beautiful and has more hair than I have! From the picture it seems it must have been something she got from her dad. Thank you Linda. My daughter's second name is Martine, which seems to mean 'the fighter', dedicated to Mars; however that maybe, a fighter she's been all her life.
