I got an order to make the whole embroidery work for a wedding, I would like to get some advice about what to do. It's for Australian couple and I don't know too much about it's culture yet.
I found out that I will need a cushion for the rings and napkin holders, what else? Would love some links for the designs or patterns too. Thanks in advance. Hugs&love
53862 Last year I was looking for a FSL horseshoe for a friends daughter, I never found one. I thought it would be different to the tradional satin & lace one. In Australia we also have a bride, barbie type doll or a bear on the wedding party Cars sitting above the centre of the radiator with wide ribbon attached at the drivers door (dash board height) down to the doll then up the the front passangers door. I saw a Horseshoe design recently but can't remember where I saw it but I did notice that it didn't have any loops to attach ribbons, so dismissed it as not useful. hnr,m
6174 Yoriko, when we talked about this on Sunday, also how about some FSL place cards for the table, or some little baskets for sweets. Or a little doily on each table. FSL vases..........the list goes on!!

13767 Sometimes, Yoriko, it doesn't matter what the current culture is. I would get what is wanted in detail from the bride AND her mother, if parents are paying for it. (been there, done that.) Give them back a written list to be sure you didn't miss anything and they also have something saying what you all agreed on.

avoid any misunderstanding or arguments.
They may know what they want but if they
don't have anything specific in mind,
it may help if you have some ideas give
them.
To my knowledge there are no REAL Aussie
traditions when it comes to weddings.
Australia is so multicultural now that
it's practically anything goes. We
'borrow' cute things we see at
other (culture's) weddings that we
may like, such as, sugared almonds as
gifts, lace swans on the tables, wedding
favours, etc. These weren't common in
the past but were borrowed from Italian and
Greek traditions. There are probably many
more now that we have even more diverse
cultures here.
The only common tradition probably still
upheld is the "something old,
something new, something borrowed,
something blue" but this is just for
the bride.
I searched on the web and found lots of
places to get ideas. If you go to Ehow.com,
(link below) scroll down left hand side,
there is a section on weddings, start there
and if you can't find what you want
email me and I'll help you search.
just make sure you know what THEY want.

59004 Som ideas for you that may be ok ---Pillow for the rings if they are having a ring bearer,x2 horseshoes that hang from the pews if a church wedding, small bags that they can use to put some wedding cake in ( usually make of an organza type fabric), coasters to put around the bottoms of glasses if its a sitdown meal( would depend on who is catering and where the reception is really) chair covers ( they are best hired) horseshoes that have the bride and grooms name and date of wedding embroidered onh them, Garter for the bride, maybe some free standing lace swans to put on the tables, will work on some ideas for pattern tomorrow ok Sue box designs have some dove and bell designs worth a looky
