Help! I got some gum stuck to a skirt and jacket. I was able to remove a lot of it, but there is still some stuck.... Does anyone know a sure trick how to get rid of this gum? Something that

has worked before! Thanks. It is my favorite skirt!

Hey Stitchship, My D-Hubby got gum on one of his bran-new shirts while sitting on air plane for 12 hrs... I took his shirt and put it in the freezer, then when it was frozen I picked off most of what I could... Then I took it to the cleaners, they got the rest out... It looks like new again... I hope this works for u... Lots of hugs + *4U

That is wonderful! I have gotten most of it but It seems that most everybody likes the freezer, or the ice! Thanks for the reply! *

I know that peanut butter gets it out of hair. It is the oil in the peanut butter that gets it out. You would then have to put spray wash to get the oil out. De solve it sounds good too. Sending you a flower.

de-solve it is the best but if u need a similar product check the isle in the supermarket that has washing powder its usually where the pre-wash sprays etc are and you should find similar products there ok good luck :) oh and ice works on articles that you cant put or fit in the freezer like carpet hehehe ( id like to see someone try that):)

Well, looks like you already got some great advice here, so I'll just say, hope you get the gum out! I got some in my hair when I was young, and my mom ended up cutting it out. So sad. :(

I use a product that is called De-Solv-It. I love it. But it is hard to find these days. We had to order it on line this last time. It is sort of like Goo Gone but works better.

I've heard of De-Solv-It. If the freezer doesn't work, I will have give something like this a try! Thanks

The name sounds familiar. If freezing doesn't work, I will have to try something different.

I too have used ice. I am pretty sure there is a chemical that will shift it. It is so annoying to get chewing gum on ANYTHING, personally I dont like the stuff. Rant over and aplogies. Hope u can get rid of it

I really appreciate all of the advice! I guess I will try the freezing and see if that works. I will have to explain to the family why I put my skirt in the freezer. ;) They might tease about that one...
You all have a wonderful weekend, and *4 Uall

I know peanut butter will work if gum gets into hair. But, I don't know about cloth. It might leave an oily spot. Good luck! Sue *4U & all

Ice works very well. If you need to, turn a butter knife over and scrape off the rest. It should work. Here's hoping!
