I had this idea that we could all make one,
in various colours, and with the addition
of a pretty ribbon, Miss Loretta could have
them all hanging in her room to lift her
spirits every day.

7895 Oh Meg, I am so happy to see that you got this posted - I went to see Loretta today - just for a minute and share your Heart and your special message with her - she was tired and wanted to lay down for her afternoon nap, so I just stayed for a moment - she said to say Hello to the CUTE family. Lovely Lady Loretta, her sense of humour
was always a delight. I really appreciate
everything you have done to get my message
to her.
It must be a day of visits, my darling 85
y.o. next door neighbour surprised me today
and came in and had a cuppa, with MIL and
me.
Only the second time in 4 years she's
come in here, usually I do the visiting.
It was such a treat to see these two sweet
elderly ladies having a chat (about their
hearing aids) over a cuppa.
But what was absolutely amazing to see, was
the difference between the 2 personalities:
one, very active, slim & spritely, only
handed in her driver's license 4 years
ago, still lives on her own and looks after
herself,(under a certain neighbour's
watchful eye), still goes to the club and
the haridressers with friends once a week,
and looks 15, no, maybe 20 years younger
than her 85 years -
the other; who has never driven a car, is
an inactive couch potato who sits and does
crosswords from daylight til dark and has
done so for over 30 years, who can't
walk more than 50 feet without needing to
sit down, has no friends her own age,
hasn't lifted a finger to help herself
in four years, is overweight and walks with
a stoop until she is reprimanded and looks
10 years older than she is.
Now to me, what this tells me is, "if
you don't use it, you lose it",
so it is crucial that you MUST stay active
and keep your independence (CAR) as long as
possible if you want to have any quality of
life as you age.
So everybody, get up from your machines and
get down and give me twenty!!! LOL! :-}}
Ok, well at least get up and walk around
the desk , bend over and touch your toes
and put that cream cake down!!! LOL!!!
