I would like to embroidery a large design to frame and hang on the wall. I need help to figure out what is the best fabric to embroider this on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

32648 You can do them on almost any fabric you choose, but if you are worried about puckering, that is generally caused by incorrect stablizing. If they are very dense designs, I'd use a dense fabric. ;)
54385 Dmuser, I hoop the felt and use no stabilzers top or bottom. Hugs and flowers.
9516 I have stitched large designs on all types of material, I make sute that I have heavy stabiliser under the material and I also spray the material with starch and iron dry, this seems to stop any puckering
4167 I have stitched out a few products on FELT and framed them. It's inexensive and I found it didn't pucker (I backed it with cutaway and used WSS on top). The felt comes in so many colours.... I have actually bought yardage in white and black from my local fabric store.

4295 I believe that the fabric would depend on what it is you are wanting to stitch out. Say if you were wanting to do a sampler -I would use muslin, or something that would resemble the material of our grandmothers. I have seen them done on silks, satins, and various mix of fabrics. I am sure that you have many here at the site that can help you. I have done smaller ones on satin, but also felt. I think the design chosen should dictate what you use.
