I've spent the last two days catalogueing my Poly Threads in Embird, so I can replace the(cheap and nasty) ones i bought before i knew any better. Heavens was that only seven months ago???

I have 98 Poly colours and 48 of those are going to be replaced with Robison Anton as I really like them, whereas the Dragon brand threads break constantly.
Are there any colours you gals find you use more than others? I'd appreciate your suggestions. hnr, Meganne

Sorry I only just found this probably cause it came up on my search for supplies. The rubbish thread I was using was Dragon, purchased from a lady on Australian Ebay, I don't know whether it was rubbish because it was 'seconds', but it breaks very easily and has lots of knots and really thin sections.
I really like Robison Anton and have bought quite a lot of it from Shoppers Rule and am hoping to buy some large spools of Madeira in the new year.
hugs n roses, and sorry i missed your Q until now. Meg(Anne)

Meganne, how do you catalogue the threads on embird? do you have the manual or use Help? I have trouble finding my way around help and wondering if it is worth buying the printed manual. Are you looking at poly or rayon RA threads? I used lots of black/charcoal and all shades of grays/silver grays with all the chrome work on Daniels trains and tractors and yellow with the machinery such as bulldozers etc. I guess it depends on what you are doing at the time. I need another 38 colours to do the biblical flowers that emblibrary had a few months ago for a quilt for my mum. eventually I will have all madiera colours. Getting there.

These were from a lady on Aust. bay. They are truly crappy, knots, shredded sections, etc. As much as i love the colours and shine, (even the poly is lustrous), i truly DO NOT recommend Dragon. hnr, M

I use a lot of light gold. Also girly colors (with 3 granddaughters what else would I use)--soft colors (light greens, light blues, pinks and purples)

I use a lot of white, black and cream. Sounds boring, but they are basic standbys. *4U

Didn't know they were cheap (and nasty) at the time, do now. But then, I'm paying less for the best Robison Anton than i paid for the Dragon. Gotta admit I love the Dragon colours, they're so vibrant and super shiny, look fabulous stitched out but they shred while stitching. Damnable shame! hnr, M
